Mina Park, a student at Sehwa High, wakes at night in a distorted version of her school and finds herself pursued by a figure resembling her teacher. To survive, she must venture into the surrounding shadow-twisted district and uncover what is happening.
Explore locations across Sehwa, search for useful supplies and clues, read notes, meet other characters, complete side quests, and solve environmental puzzles. A relentless pursuer and other hazards make moving through each area a matter of choosing when to run, hide, or keep exploring.
Manage stamina and inventory, craft items to prepare for danger, and use tools and upgrades to reach previously inaccessible areas. Encounters can cause lasting injuries, while discoveries and side activities contribute to the story and its different endings.
Players often enjoy the hand-drawn visuals, eerie atmosphere, and sound design, which help create tension during exploration and pursuit. Reviews also praise the wider range of locations and the story, characters, and lore found through notes and side quests. Some appreciate the added survival and hiding mechanics, while others find the repeated backtracking and pursuit sequences tiring.
