We Love It's Guide to…

Pirates Outlaws

Lead a pirate expedition across dangerous seas, choosing routes through maps filled with enemy encounters, events, and bosses. Maps and chapters offer different challenges, and voyages can end in failure or carry on toward further battles. Combat is turn-based and card-driven. Build a deck from battle rewards, combine cards and relics, and manage ammunition, which some cards consume while others can replenish. Choose among 16 heroes with different abilities and playstyles. Alongside Navigate mode, Arena pits you against a Champion every ten battles, while Tavern Brawl uses pre-made packages for pirate waves and a final Tavern Keeper fight. Repute unlocks maps, chapters, and heroes, and the Workshop lets players customize or create heroes, cards, relics, and other content.

  3. Balance and difficulty concerns, including encounters or enemy effects some players find unfair or unclear.
  4. Some players find the gameplay repetitive or insufficiently distinctive from other deckbuilders.
