The heroine awakens in darkness with no memories and meets Alice, a young man who has also forgotten his past. Together they pass through a crystal mirror into the Looking-Glass World, where familiar fairy tales are retold with their roles reversed and the heroine takes an active part in the characters’ stories.
Episode 1 offers two romance routes. In Cinderella’s story, the heroine visits the café of her arranged fiancé to learn about him and ends up working there and staying under his roof, while he mistakes her for someone poor. In Red Riding Hood’s story, a threatening letter brings Officer Red to her home; he keeps watch over her as they investigate who sent it.
The routes are separate stories with different relationships and casts. Players read the narrative and make choices at key moments that lead to different endings. The episode focuses on Cinderella and Red Riding Hood, and its dialogue is voiced in Japanese except for the heroine.
Players who enjoy the game often praise its lively, proactive heroine, comic dialogue, character dynamics, and playful twists on familiar fairy tales; some also highlight the Japanese voice performances and artwork. Reactions are sharply divided, though: the heroine and humor do not work for everyone, and opinions vary considerably between the two routes. Several reviewers also describe the opening or parts of the stories as slow, while others find the writing’s tone, dialogue, or treatment of gender uncomfortable.
