TOHU is a point-and-click adventure set among fish-shaped planets. You play as a curious girl whose journey to repair the Sacred Engine brings her through strange locations and into contact with unusual characters and creatures.
Investigate scenes, talk to inhabitants, collect useful objects, and work out how to operate devices and solve environmental puzzles. Hidden critters can also be found during exploration, including creatures needed to power the fly-ship.
Switch between the girl and her mechanical alter-ego, Cubus, to use their different abilities: the girl can reach places that require agility, while Cubus can handle heavy tasks. A hint system offers help through a small mini-game as you progress through the locations.
Players who enjoyed TOHU often highlight its detailed, illustrated art and its cute, surreal world, with several also praising the music.
