GOLD EXPRESS

Set in a future where humans and advanced AI machines clash, GOLD EXPRESS is an asymmetric multiplayer game for five players. Four Extractors try to escape an arena while one machine-aligned Watcher hunts them.

Extractors collect data cubes from Data Miners and carry them to Data Warehouses to upload. Uploading seven cubes calls in flying trucks for an escape. The Watcher tries to stop them by pursuing and attacking Extractors, and can infect data stations with viruses to hinder their work.

Both sides have character-specific abilities and can build or remove barriers to change routes during a chase. Actions such as quick movement and ability use draw on a regenerating energy supply, while temporary power-ups appear around the map. Hit Extractors can drop their cubes; after execution, they become holograms and can seek a teammate to revive them.

The selected reviews are mixed. Players who enjoy the game often praise its cyberpunk art and character designs, as well as its data-collection objective and map-changing chase mechanics. Others report balance problems between the two roles, and many say a small player pool makes finding matches difficult or impossible.
