Punch Club 2 follows a young man raised in his mother’s garage whose father vanished before he was born. In a corrupt, futuristic city, he can pursue the ranks of the fighting leagues while looking into his father’s disappearance and the world around him.
The core activity is managing time, money, and daily needs. Balance training with eating, sleeping, working, and taking on quests as you develop your fighter and make progress through the story.
For each bout, build stats, learn techniques, and choose a fighting style and moves; the fights play out based on those preparations rather than direct action controls. Quests can open access to new schools and moves as you advance through the leagues.
Supplied reviews often enjoy the pop-culture references and humor, pixel-art presentation, and the satisfaction of developing a fighter and adjusting builds for opponents. Some also praise the music and story. Common complaints include a repetitive work-and-training routine, slow grinding, and, for some players, dialogue or an ending that underwhelms. Several reviews also report quest bugs and say combat skills are not explained clearly enough.
