You play as Boris the Wolf, searching the abandoned Joey Drew Studios for supplies needed to survive. The Ink Demon and other creatures stalk the studio, turning each trip through its halls into a hunt for resources while danger closes in.
Explore changing rooms, collect items, and find a way out while keeping an eye on stamina. Food can restore your energy, and the creatures’ sounds can signal when a pursuer is nearby, so deciding when to move, hide, or keep searching matters.
Collectibles and completed tasks reveal studio lore and unlock secrets, characters, and other content. The included updates add locations, missions, enemies, playable characters with abilities, and further discoveries.
Players who enjoy the game often point to its tense cartoon-studio atmosphere, audio cues, and quick scavenging runs, with secrets and lore giving them reasons to explore and replay. Some find the simple loop and randomized layouts engaging, while others say repeated searches, unpredictable item placement, and shallow stealth make the game feel monotonous or frustrating.
