A camping trip in the Pacific Northwest goes wrong when the guide disappears and you discover the reserve is part of an experiment. Play alone or in online co-op with up to four friends as you investigate what happened and look for a way out.
Explore trails, cabins, points of interest, and changing areas of the reserve. Scavenge supplies, read notes and other clues, solve environmental puzzles, and choose whether to sneak past security patrols or find another route.
Craft equipment and expand a campsite while managing hunger, hydration, fatigue, health, and temperature. Recipes are learned from found items or trade, and seasonal changes bring different conditions as you explore the reserve and its barrier.
Players who enjoy the game often praise its Pacific Northwest scenery, eerie atmosphere, and open-ended exploration, especially the satisfaction of piecing together clues without much direction. Some also like its slower, less pressured pace and the chance to explore with friends. The sample is mixed: many reviews describe bugs, performance problems, inventory friction, and lost progress as obstacles to that experience.
The Gold River Project™ throws you and your friends on an epic camping survival adventure! Try to escape a grueling experiment across one of the largest private nature reserves in the Pacific Northwest. You are being watched, studied and manipulated at every turn. Solve the mysteries within and try to survive another day. Players logging 100+ hours are still finding new points of interest, lore, and content, and the game is still growing.
