Japan’s beloved puzzle game series Puyo Puyo and the world-renowned Tetris® game franchise have teamed up again to deliver even more Puyo-popping and Tetrimino-clearing fun in Puyo Puyo Tetris 2.

Puyo Puyo and Tetris collide in a puzzle adventure across merged worlds. Choose from a large cast of characters and follow a story in which they set out to rescue their friends from a dark corruption.
In Puyo Puyo, arrange matching pieces to set off chains; in Tetris, place falling blocks to clear lines. Play either style or try modes that mix them, in solo challenges or local and online matches for up to four players.
Adventure Mode links puzzle stages across an overworld map. Skill Battles add character teams, abilities, equipment cards, and RPG-style stats such as HP and attack; Lessons offers more than 150 interactive tutorials, and replaying stages can earn rewards and unlock content.
Many reviewers enjoy the core puzzle play, especially the option to switch between Puyo and Tetris, and some praise local matches, solo modes, and the character cast. Opinions differ on the balance between the two puzzle styles and on the adventure campaign. A recurring complaint is that online matchmaking can be difficult because of low player activity.
