Play as Tusk, a skinless monstrosity battling eldritch creatures across a retro Gothic world. The first-person shooter builds its setting around grotesque horror imagery and strange environments.
Fight through enemy-filled levels using an arsenal of eight weapons against 13 enemy types. Combat is the focus, with weapons and foes bringing different threats to each encounter.
Explore 16 levels, find keys, and open doors as you advance through the campaign. Levels also offer secrets to discover, alongside changing challenges and boss fights.
Players in this sample often praise Shrine’s grotesque pixel-art style, eldritch atmosphere, and unusual weapon and enemy designs. Some enjoy its brisk, old-school shooting and compact levels, while others find the difficulty uneven, with tough or bullet-sponge enemies and frustrating boss encounters. Several also note that the campaign is short.
