You are sent to a hostile, barren planet with the task of making it habitable. Manage oxygen, water, food, temperature, and health while collecting resources and crafting the equipment needed to survive.
Explore the landscape, shipwrecks, and abandoned structures for materials and clues. Build and expand a base, then construct machines that generate heat, pressure, and oxygen to transform the planet.
Terraforming progress unlocks new technology and changes the environment, from early signs of vegetation to more developed ecosystems. Later systems include automation and creating life from DNA extracts; you can play alone or online with up to ten players, with adjustable difficulty and game settings.
Players often enjoy watching their actions visibly reshape the planet, and describe the steady unlocks and building loop as rewarding. Many appreciate the calm, combat-free pace and the mix of exploration, crafting, and base-building; some also highlight co-op as a fun way to work on a world together. Other reviews find the later game repetitive or too easy, so the appeal of its slower, lighter survival style is not universal.
