In Silence is a multiplayer horror game. One player takes on the role of the monster who has hypersensitive hearing abilities and is almost completely blind. The other players(2-6) play as survivors, trying to escape or hunting the monster.

In this multiplayer horror game, one player controls Rake, a nearly blind monster whose vision depends on sound. The other players are survivors trying to escape or fight back; a single-player mode is also available.
Survivors search for useful items and can repair a car to escape or open a hidden armory to get weapons and hunt Rake. They can use noisy objects such as TVs and radios to distract the monster, while footsteps, broken objects, and proximity voice chat can give away their positions.
Rake hears faint noises over long distances and can move quickly. Survivors can use an energy-powered flashlight to stun Rake, but opening the armory or escape gates enrages the monster. Roles, perks, escape points, and item placements vary between matches; survivors who die return as mice and can help by finding items or distracting Rake.
Players who enjoy the game often point to its frightening monster design, sound-based hunting premise, and tense matches with friends. Some also praise the survivor-versus-monster setup as a fun group experience, though reviews frequently describe technical problems, empty public lobbies, and matches that grow repetitive.

| Multiplayer | In Silence supports online asymmetrical multiplayer with one monster player and multiple survivor players. The store page states one player is the monster and the other players are survivors (2-6), while multiple reviews describe standard matches as 1v5 and private lobbies as requiring at least 3 players and supporting up to 6 total players. The game also supports single-player and co-op/PvE sessions with an AI-controlled Rake, plus public and private lobbies, proximity voice chat, and cross-platform multiplayer. |
| Multiplayer & mods | No multiplayer mod support is confirmed. One review requests Workshop support for character models and maps, but this is not presented as an existing feature. |
