ACTION SANDBOX is a 2D physics sandbox centered on creating and controlling digital toys, including robots and mechs. Players can start from the developer’s sample creations and change them to suit their ideas.
Toys can be set up to walk, shoot, fly, catch, board, hang, hit, dance, or transform. Players define goals for their creations, such as escaping, rescuing, surviving, destroying targets, or docking.
Players can build objectives around AI competition and other challenges, then share creations through Steam Workshop. Workshop creations can also be downloaded, played, modified, and rebuilt.
Players who praise the game tend to value its creative editor and the freedom to bring ideas to life, with some highlighting mech and robot construction or the sandbox concept. At the same time, many supplied reviews complain about a lack of updates and features, and some criticize the controls, bugs, or Workshop content.
