In an alternate-history World War II, you lead the Enigma Squad, six scientist-commandos fighting the Third Reich. Their former teammate Hans Kammler has joined the Nazis, whose occult experiments threaten to unleash a powerful new weapon.
Each mission is an isometric stealth-tactics challenge. Study patrols and sightlines, use cover to stay hidden, and distract or eliminate guards while completing objectives. Different routes, enemy placements, and environmental hazards shape how you approach each area.
Every squad member has distinctive abilities that can be combined for coordinated attacks and other tactical solutions. Optional objectives and hidden XP crates, along with combat, contribute to skill upgrades; missions also offer challenges to pursue on replay.
Players often enjoy the careful, puzzle-like stealth tactics, the distinctive abilities available across the squad, and the variety of the levels. Reviews also appreciate the alternate-history mix of WWII and occult science. Some find the game easier or less polished than similar titles, and recurring complaints include crashes, awkward controls or pathfinding, and a story that does not hold everyone’s interest.
