After Tokyo’s population disappears amid a supernatural event, Akito survives with the spirit KK sharing his body. Together, they investigate the cause of the vanishing and try to save Akito’s family.
Fight ghostly Visitors using upgradeable elemental abilities and other ghost-hunting tools. Explore streets and rooftops, using parkour and gliding to move through the city and reach enemies or new areas.
Cleanse torii gates to push back the fog and open more of the map. Side missions, lost souls, and collectibles offer activities beyond the main story; character skills and powers unlock as you progress. The Spider’s Thread update also adds a separate roguelite mode.
Players who enjoy the game often praise its eerie, detailed version of Tokyo and the way Japanese folklore shapes its spirits, settings, and side stories. They also appreciate exploring streets and rooftops, and find the hand-cast elemental combat visually distinctive. Some players particularly enjoy the smaller ghost stories and the banter between Akito and KK, though other reviews describe the combat and open-world activities as repetitive.
