Untrusted is an online social deduction game for 10–16 players. You take on a role in NETSEC, a hacking crew, or play as an undercover AGENT trying to stop its operation. Neutral roles have their own objectives.
Players coordinate and deceive one another through chat while NETSEC works toward a target node. You can investigate activity, inspect system logs, and use role abilities to support the hack, disrupt it, or uncover opposing players.
Each match deals players different classes and skills, shaping how they gather information and influence the group. NETSEC can win by gaining root access, while AGENTS can stop the operation by eliminating NETSEC members or by gaining control of root access; neutral roles pursue their own goals.
Players who enjoy Untrusted often praise its mix of deduction, deception, and hacking-themed teamwork, along with the variety of roles and strategies. Some say the game becomes rewarding after they learn its systems, while others find the rules and tutorial difficult to get through. Reviews also frequently mention that finding active matches can be a challenge.
