You sit down at a fictional Z5 Powerlance, a retro computer loaded with games from its bulletin-board-style service. Browse the system, download its games, and uncover notes about the Barkeep, the software, and the computer’s history.
The collection spans several kinds of play: design automated food factories, build circuits, program patterns of growing tissue, map dungeons with logic clues, and play two solitaire variants. You can also assemble and paint robot models or take on HACK*MATCH, a fast tile-matching game with local head-to-head play.
Each game has its own rules and challenges, with room to experiment and, in some puzzles, optimize solutions. Progress in the games can unlock more notes about their creators and the computer, while Dungeons & Diagrams also offers randomly generated puzzles.
Players often enjoy the convincing retro-computer atmosphere and the range of distinct games, with Dungeons & Diagrams, the factory puzzles, and the solitaire variants recurring as favorites. Many find the logic challenges satisfying, while others say some games are hard to understand without clearer instructions.
