AI Dungeon is a text-based adventure in which you take the role of a character in a world and story you choose or create. The AI supplies the details of that setting and the events around you.
Rather than selecting from fixed dialogue options, you type what your character says or does. The AI generates reactions from other characters and developments in the world for you to respond to.
Start from a predefined, player-made, or random scenario, or set up your own. You can save an adventure to continue later, redo generated text, or replace it with your own words.
Some players enjoy the freedom to steer stories, experiment with unusual ideas, and encounter unexpected turns; a few describe the results as fun when the AI’s creativity works. Other reviews criticize the generated stories for losing details or becoming incoherent, and several object to subscription costs or report problems with access and support.
