After the lighthouse keeper disappears, you travel across Montelorne to investigate a growing threat tied to the Castle of Maltyr. The game is an open-world, 2.5D action RPG playable solo or in online and local co-op.
Explore towns, wilderness, and more than 45 dungeons, fighting monsters and taking on side quests as you search for routes, loot, and collectibles. Combat uses weapons, spells, and abilities, while monster companions hatched from eggs can be raised and evolved to fight alongside you.
Develop your character by assigning attribute points, improving weapon skills, unlocking abilities, and upgrading equipment. Gather materials to craft weapons, armor, and potions; optional activities include a collectible-card game and a fishing minigame.
Players who enjoy the game often point to its broad world and variety of activities, especially raising and evolving monster companions, exploring dungeons, and experimenting with character builds. Some also enjoy the card and fishing minigames or playing local co-op. Criticism recurs around sparse explanations and uneven combat balance, while opinions on the minigames and the length of dungeon runs vary.
**Important** This game has been successfully patched to fix the Unity Security Issue from October 2nd 2025.
