Badlanders is a shooter set among the ruins of the Red Beach Shelter, once home to advanced weapons technology. You play as a scavenger entering a dangerous zone where rival scavengers seek the same resources.
In matches, search the battlefield for loot and fight your way toward escape. Making it out lets you keep what you found; failing to escape means losing the chance to bring that haul home.
Use retained gear in later matches, upgrade or equip it, and customize weapons with attachments and other items. Loot can also be traded on a player-driven market, making gear choices part of your longer-term progression.
Some reviewers fondly remember the game and appreciate its loot-and-escape loop, with a few also noting its low PC requirements. Others describe it as disappointing, and several lament that the servers are unavailable or the game is no longer playable.
