Set before Final Fantasy VII, the game follows SOLDIER operative Zack Fair as he pursues his dream of becoming a hero and encounters the people and events that shape the wider story.
Fight in real time with sword strikes, dodges, guards, magic, and equipped abilities. A slot-machine-like system called the DMW can trigger special attacks and bonuses, and also affects character and ability growth.
Progress through story chapters and optional combat missions to earn equipment and strengthen Zack. This remaster updates the graphics and battle system, adds voiced dialogue, and features rearranged music.
