Thief Deckard is hired to steal an ancient artifact, but opening Pandora’s Box unleashes mythological creatures into the modern world. Marked with a new power, he joins a secret society’s fight to contain the invasion and return the creatures to the box.
The campaign is a linear first-person shooter that sends Deckard through cities and other urban environments under attack. He battles werewolves, griffons, minotaurs and other creatures, as well as armed human forces, using firearms, an axe and throwables.
Deckard can absorb energy from defeated creatures to restore health or unleash a burst attack. He can carry two firearms at a time, and the campaign combines regular fights with larger set-piece encounters.
Reviewers who enjoyed the game often point to its premise of mythological creatures invading modern cities, and to the large-scale destruction and chaotic scenes that bring that idea to life. Some also praise its atmosphere, rock soundtrack and brisk, old-school shooter feel, with nostalgia adding to the appeal for some players. Others found the execution less satisfying, so these positives are not shared by everyone.
