Sam Stone travels through Siberia in pursuit of General Brand, fighting the alien creatures of Mental’s Horde across five levels. The standalone campaign moves through settings including Arctic coasts, forests, villages, and a ghost town.
Combat centers on fast first-person shooting against large groups of enemies. Sam can use an arsenal of weapons, including new additions such as the AK and Perun crossbow, alongside gadgets and vehicles.
Levels also offer optional side missions, secrets, and hidden areas, with side missions revealing additional stories. The game includes co-op and survival modes; reviews also describe unlockable perks and New Game+.
