Set in near-Earth space after an explosion on the Moon scatters debris into orbit, Shattered Horizon is a first-person shooter about battles among asteroids, Moon fragments, and the remains of the International Space Station.
Fly freely with a rocket pack, then land on surfaces to reposition or attack. Combat takes place in full three-dimensional space, so threats can come from any direction; tactical grenades can disable electronics, block sightlines, or flush enemies from cover.
Fight in multiplayer battles of up to 32 players over control of space locations, or play the game modes alone against bots. The debris-filled maps use contrasting light and shadow, and the game tracks personal stats and online leaderboards.
Players who enjoyed the game often singled out its unusual zero-gravity combat and the freedom to attack from any direction, with some also praising its mechanics, atmosphere, and graphics. Other reviewers found the bots or gameplay unengaging and noted that the multiplayer had few or no players.
