Set during the Vietnam War, this single-player open-world sandbox lets you serve with U.S. forces or the Vietcong/N.V.A. You take part in a battlefield where other units move and fight independently, with no fixed story or main-mission campaign.
Patrol villages, jungles, and river valleys; take on missions shaped by local events; and fight to capture objectives or defend bases. You can lead a squad, spot enemies for your troops, use radios to request support, and take part in combat on foot or in vehicles.
The game features a large map spanning Vietnam and parts of Laos and Cambodia, with bases, villages, and supply routes. You can build and reinforce outposts, call in supplies and reinforcements, and use a broad selection of weapons and vehicles. Missions of various types are provided based on the situation in the area. However, there is no story or main mission progression.
Use radios to request airstrikes, artillery support, reinforcements and supplies.
Patrol the Mekong delta and lush river valleys. Search and destroy the enemies in dense jungles and defend the hilltop fire bases. Protect loyal villages from enemy infiltration or teach them the price of betrayal.
Build perimeter defenses. Eat, drink and smoke to calm the nerves, or pop pills to feel energized.
Keep an eye out for booby traps, tigers, snakes and critters as you root out tunnels and hidden fortifications in the jungles. Avoid capture or become a P.O.W.
Bomb the Ho Chi Minh Trail or lead special forces across the border into Laos and Cambodia to disrupt enemy supplies.
The game features one huge 1000+ km2 map that covers North and South Vietnam, and large parts of Laos and Cambodia with hundreds of manually built bases and villages.
Fly jets or gunships, or man the door guns. Pound the enemy using tanks and artillery and a vast arsenal of weapons.
