Before Fate

From the Devs

Before Fate is a retro sci-fi survival RPG built around exploration, crafting, combat, and dungeon-driven progression. Researcher Ian travels through unstable rifts in time and space, venturing into deserts, forests, industrial ruins, and anomaly zones to gather resources, craft gear, restore the base, and survive a world overrun by Astrosects and rogue machines. As the investigation unfolds, the links between the Chrono Gem, the swarm disaster, and the Aude Research Institute begin to surface.

Game Features:

• Explore Across Time and Space

Travel through diverse regions, from barren deserts and mysterious forests to industrial ruins and anomaly zones. Each area brings its own resources, threats, mechanisms, and hidden clues.

• Deep Narrative

Follow the trail of the Chrono Gem and investigate the truth behind the swarm disaster. As Ian’s journey continues, the Aude Research Institute, rogue machines, and time-space anomalies become part of a larger mystery.

• Rich Arsenal

Use over a hundred types of weapons and a wide range of unique items to shape your combat style. Craft, upgrade, and adapt your loadout for different enemies and dangerous environments.

• Puzzle Challenges

• Hand-Drawn Sci-Fi Vision

Hand-drawn environments, retro comic textures, and old-future sci-fi atmosphere define the visual identity of Before Fate.

Artistic Style:

• Retro Meets Modern:

Built on the spirit of 1970s and 1980s science fiction, Before Fate combines hand-drawn environments with a comic-inspired visual style to shape a sci-fi world with an old-future atmosphere.

• Hand-Drawn World:

From barren deserts and mysterious forests to industrial facilities and anomaly zones, every environment and character is presented through hand-drawn visuals, forming a world that gradually unfolds through temporal dislocation.

Story Overview:

"Time and space do not meet. They collide. What we call 'possibility' is no more than an ordained echo within the Rift."

In an age where robots and humans coexist, the arrival of a meteorite changes the course of the world. Researcher Ian Stewart follows the clues left behind by his mentor, Abel Morrison, and gradually uncovers the links between the Chrono Gem, the swarm disaster, and the Aude Research Institute.

The Chrono Rift opens, and an adventure of exploration and survival begins.
