In Suikoden I, take up arms against a declining empire as a liberation army rises. In Suikoden II, a young soldier and his childhood friend are caught in a renewed conflict between the Highland Kingdom and the City-States of Jowston.
Explore towns and routes, recruit up to 108 Stars of Destiny, and form a six-character party from a large cast. Turn-based battles use weapons, runes, and character abilities, alongside large-scale army battles and one-on-one duels.
Recruiting allies expands your headquarters and can unlock useful services, while side activities and minigames add variety. Who you recruit and certain choices can affect the endings. The HD remaster updates backgrounds, effects, and sounds, and adds autosave, battle fast-forward, and a conversation log.
