Choose a faction and leader, then compete for galactic dominance from your home world. Nexus 5X offers solo play and turn-based matches for 2–8 players, designed to bring a 4X contest to a much shorter session.
Explore the galaxy, occupy new systems, manage resources, and build fleets as you expand. Your chosen faction and leader shape your approach, while military conflict and diplomacy offer different ways to challenge rival empires.
Turns are built around choosing and spending actions, with available cards and general actions guiding what you can do. The Galactic Council adds political play: vote on titles and resolutions to gain influence or pursue strategic objectives as you race to control Nexus.

Starting from the safe haven of their home world, players can rapidly expand their reach across the galaxy to explore and occupy new systems, eventually taking control of the throne-world of Nexus. Military conflict and diplomatic dealings are available as players expand and explore, but so is the power struggle that plays out in the Galactic Council, as rival empires exert their influence to cast votes in favour of new titles and resolutions, aiming to empower their faction or advance their immediate strategic objectives.
For role-players who want to immerse themselves in the lore-rich Stellaris universe, or for ‘by-the-numbers’ strategists, select from factions and leaders that alter the approach of each match, offering a range of playstyles and ways to gain the upper-hand over their opponents.
