Design a forum by arranging its parts into a layout of your own, rather than placing it as a single fixed building.
Follow Roman planning practices: lay out the cardo and decumanus, and meet prerequisites for later structures—for example, building a funeral pyre before adding burial space.
Consult auguries before organizing festivals, display the calendar, and present imperial news to citizens through a rostra.
Pax Augusta is probably the most authentic ancient city-building simulation. Build flourishing cities and look after your citizens. Earn gold with production and trade of goods and build impressive monuments. Strengthen your influence and become a Roman emperor!

You play a Roman governor tasked with founding settlements along the empire’s borders. Develop each from a small outpost into a functioning city while serving its population and maintaining the emperor’s confidence.
Plan residential districts and civic spaces, and provide services, entertainment, work, food, and building materials. Produce and trade goods, manage imports and exports, and respond to pressures such as fire, disease, unrest, and changing imperial demands.
The economy and city’s needs must stay in balance as the population grows and more buildings become available. Reputation and personal wealth open paths to new settlements, political offices, monuments, and building sites. Story and sandbox modes offer guided progression or freer city planning.
Players who enjoy Pax Augusta often praise its Roman historical detail and the way its buildings and planning systems help give cities a distinct character. Some also enjoy balancing the economy and developing a settlement at a measured pace. Experiences are sharply mixed, however: many reviews report technical problems that interfere with play, alongside concerns about the interface, learning curve, and constrained maps.
Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of the Roman Empire and build your own ancient metropolis! Pax Augusta is probably the most authentic city-building simulation set in the ancient world and puts you in the role of an ambitious governor who builds new cities along the Roman borders.
While Emperor Augustus expands the borders of the empire, capable governors are sought to found new cities in order to consolidate the Roman claim to the newly conquered land. You build a small settlement along a newly constructed imperial road. You attract new inhabitants to the city by building a harbor and a forum.
As your tax revenue increases, you start to mine raw materials and construct new buildings to meet the needs of the population. Baths, theaters, gladiator schools, slave markets, and more serve not only to keep your inhabitants entertained, but also to provide them with work.
Build impressive city districts, ensure the well-being of your citizens, engage in flourishing trade and erect magnificent monuments that will last for centuries. But the road to the top is full of challenges - fire, corruption, unrest and the whims of the emperor will put your leadership skills to the test time and again.
As a skillful governor, you will quickly attract the attention of the senate or the emperor. Increase your reputation enough and you can found new settlements. As you increase your private fortune, you will eventually be able to afford to apply for new offices. This gives you the opportunity to build monuments and unlock new building sites.
Will you become a skillful administrator and make your city flourish? Or will you fail and be deposed by the Senate?
Your skill will decide your fate in the most powerful empire of the ancient world!
