Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy race across the Northstar Islands to stop Dr. Eggman, Fang, and a mysterious adversary from turning the islands’ giant animals into Badniks.
Across side-scrolling stages, players build speed, jump through platforming challenges, fight enemies, and explore alternate paths. Each hero has different abilities, and special stages offer a way to collect Chaos Emeralds.
Each Emerald grants a power that can help with attacks or open up new ways to explore. The campaign supports solo play or up to four players locally; Battle Mode supports up to eight players locally or online.
Players who enjoy the game often praise its classic-style movement, inventive stages, colorful presentation, and the Emerald powers and character options. Some also find the co-op fun, though others say the shared camera and player warping make it chaotic. Choose from Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy and take advantage of their unique abilities to blaze a path across the Northstar Islands as they race to defeat Dr. Eggman, who has teamed up with an old nemesis, Fang, and a mysterious new armored adversary.
With the new Emerald Powers, choose from 7 different abilities including Multiply, swim up waterfalls, and even change your form. Explore new parts of the map, unlock new abilities, and unleash devastating special abilities against your enemies.
Play through the entire campaign with up to 3 other players with 4-Player Local Co-op and Compete locally or online with up to 8 players in the all-new Battle Mode!
