Dungeons & Dragons Online is a fantasy RPG set across player hubs and adventure areas, including the city of Stormreach. Create a hero from available races and classes, then venture out alone or with other players in a world built around D&D-inspired rules.
Most adventures take place in self-contained quests and dungeons. Fight enemies in real time, navigate hazards, disable traps, solve puzzles, find secret routes and complete quest objectives, often with narration setting the scene. You can tackle many quests solo or join a group for more challenging adventures and raids.
Earn experience and develop your character through levels, skills, feats and class-based options; some builds can combine multiple classes. Quests and areas are designed for particular level ranges. At higher levels, you can optionally reincarnate, returning to lower levels while gaining bonuses that contribute to further character progression.
Players who praise DDO often point to its deep character-building choices and its D&D-inspired systems, which let them experiment with classes and roles. They also enjoy quests that mix combat with traps, puzzles, secret paths and narrated stories, and value the option to take on adventures solo or with a party.
