You play as the Undead King, fighting the living who attacked Necropolis and took its inhabitants. Reclaim territory, free undead souls, and restore the city.
Battle enemies with melee weapons and magical staves while directing an undead army. Defeated foes leave remains that let you raise selected types of minions and send them against enemy forces.
Explore regions and their stages, complete quests, find secrets, and collect or craft equipment. Rebuilding Necropolis and rescuing its inhabitants unlocks units, talents, upgrades, and powers; you can also test your army in an arena with endless enemy waves.
Players who enjoy the game often praise commanding a summoned undead army and shaping a character and minion build, with some finding the Necropolis restoration and exploration rewarding additions.
