Travel through interconnected, grotesque landscapes filled with traps, enemies, hidden paths, and characters with requests and quests. New areas and routes become reachable as you gain movement abilities and learn how to use your weapons to interact with the environment.
Fight with three distinct weapons, each with its own moves and uses, and switch between them in combat and while exploring. Gain abilities and weapon upgrades, equip items that alter your strengths, and use prayers to support your battles against challenging bosses.
Players often praise the more responsive movement and combat, the distinct play styles offered by the weapons, and exploration that rewards returning with new abilities.
