Noctuary follows Fancia Dream and Alina Nightsong, two young illuminators working toward becoming Arborangers who protect their community. Their travels through Inlixaland bring them into contact with other illuminators, dangerous monsters, and a mysterious girl who has fallen from the sky.
The game is primarily a visual novel, told through story scenes, character interactions, missions, and side stories. Alongside the main journey, more than 20 side routes and quests explore other characters and add stories to the world.
Action battles break up the reading, with players switching between Fancia and Alina, using their different combat styles, combos, and dodges against enemies and bosses.
