You play as Amanda Ripley, who travels to the remote Sevastopol station to investigate her mother's disappearance. The station is in chaos, and surviving its dangers becomes part of Amanda's search for answers.
Explore corridors and rooms in first person while avoiding the alien, hostile humans, androids, and station hazards. The alien reacts to sounds and learns from repeated hiding tactics, so you must watch for threats and choose when to hide, distract, or run.
Scavenge scarce supplies, craft tools, hack systems, and use a motion tracker to help navigate each mission. Limited resources and access tools shape how you handle encounters and reach areas of the station.
Players often praise the constant tension created by the alien's adaptive behavior, the station's retro-futuristic atmosphere, and its detailed sound design. Many also appreciate the stealth-focused survival gameplay and its connection to the Alien films. Some find the campaign slow or overlong, with repetitive stretches and difficulty that can feel frustrating.
