Career Mode puts you in charge of an aspiring young cricketer and follows his progress through the ranks toward international cricket. You can also play matches with more than 100 included teams.
Batting uses 360-degree shot control, while bowling lets you choose line and length without pitch markers. Fielding involves direct play too, including chasing and sliding for the ball, catching at the boundary, and attempting run-outs.
Ball and player physics affect play, while time of day, weather, and pitch conditions can change during a match. Practice Nets let you train, and the Cricket Academy supports creating and customizing teams, players, tours, competitions, match types, and umpires; play is available offline or online.
In this review sample, players often praise the game’s convincing cricket feel, batting and match mechanics, and lasting appeal. Career Mode is a particular favorite for some, while others also appreciate the visuals and report enjoying the game on lower-end computers. Several reviews mention crashes or freezes, and a few describe controller setup or detection problems.
