Set in an alternate near-future World War III, EndWar puts you in command of a battalion from the United States, European, or Russian forces. You direct squads in objective-based battles, aiming to capture key positions or destroy enemy units.
Orders can be issued with mouse and keyboard controls or voice commands. A camera follows a selected unit, while terrain, cover, and each unit type’s strengths shape how you position troops and respond to enemy forces.
Campaign play links tactical battles to a larger strategic map, where operations affect the shifting conflict. Battles earn credits for upgrades, and surviving units gain experience. The game also includes a faction-based online war mode.
Players who enjoy EndWar often praise its unusual voice-command concept and tactical focus, especially matching unit types against enemy forces and planning around objectives and terrain. Some also value the campaigns, faction choices, and the nostalgia of returning to the game. Experiences with voice recognition and camera controls vary, and some reviewers criticize the AI or find battles repetitive.
