KENTUCKY ROUTE ZERO is a magical realist adventure game about a secret highway running through the caves beneath Kentucky, and the mysterious folks who travel it.
Developed by Cardboard Computer · Published by Cardboard Computer

In five acts, Kentucky Route Zero follows Conway, an aging driver making one last delivery for a struggling antique shop. Unable to find the address, he discovers a secret highway beneath Kentucky and encounters the people who live and travel along it.
Explore locations, inspect objects, and talk with the people Conway meets using point-and-click controls. The journey moves between ordinary roads, underground passages, and surreal settings, with scenes that sometimes shift perspective or focus on other characters.
Conversations offer choices that fill in characters’ histories and shape how they are presented, while the main story largely follows its own course. The acts and interludes develop the journey through dialogue, light puzzles, and recurring encounters rather than action challenges.
Players who connect with the game often praise its literary dialogue, dreamlike atmosphere, distinctive visual presentation, and music, describing a reflective journey that can leave a strong emotional impression. Others find the pace slow, the story difficult to follow, and the interactive elements too limited. Responses vary sharply with players’ interest in an experimental, text-focused adventure.
