Explore Bantu-Inspired Kenzera
Wield the dance of the shaman. Reclaim your father’s spirit. Brave the beautiful and treacherous land of Kenzera with the God of Death in Tales of Kenzera™: ZAU, a metroidvania-style adventure crafted by Surgent Studios.

A grieving boy reads a tale left unfinished by his late father. Within that story, players take the role of Zau, a young shaman who bargains with the God of Death in hopes of bringing his father back.
Explore Kenzera in side-scrolling platforming sections and fight spirits with two masks: the Sun mask focuses on close-range attacks, while the Moon mask offers ranged attacks. Switching between them lets Zau adapt his attacks and abilities to different situations.
Gain new abilities as you travel through connected regions, opening routes and reaching places that were previously inaccessible. Collect items and lore, improve Zau's abilities, and take on optional challenges during the journey.
Players who enjoyed the game often highlight its story about grief and healing, its voice performances, colorful art, music, and Bantu-inspired setting. Some also praise the accessible platforming and mask-switching combat. Others find the combat repetitive and the exploration more linear than they expect from a Metroidvania.
