Yu, a martial artist, travels across the country to free the Emperor from an Admiral’s influence. Each run takes him through a changing series of encounters as he faces groups of the Admiral’s followers.
Before each fight, Yu can use Foresight to rehearse the encounter repeatedly and test different approaches without consequences. He then fights for real, relying on precise timing, positioning, attacks, and defensive moves to carry out his plan—or adapt if it goes awry.
Between fights, players choose routes across a randomly generated map, visit Inns to rest, and gather techniques and other resources. Five Masters offer distinct martial arts styles and techniques that shape Yu’s moveset; the journey’s ultimate challenge is to win without using Foresight.
Players often enjoy Forestrike’s mix of fight planning and real-time execution: rehearsing encounters turns combat into a tactical puzzle, while carrying the plan out under pressure makes wins feel earned. Reviews also appreciate the different martial styles and the sense of improving through repeated attempts. Some players find that same execution pressure punishing, and criticize limited build variety, uneven styles, or slow restarts after a failed run.

A martial artist, named Yu, embarks on a journey across the country to free the Emperor from an evil Admiral’s influence. As the odds become more and more overwhelming, it’s clear Yu will need more than his fists to overcome the Admiral’s vicious followers.
Enter ‘Foresight’, a mysterious technique allowing Yu to rehearse each encounter within the fortress of his mind. Mastering the fight before it begins won't guarantee victory in reality, but it will give Yu a fighting chance.Every single move matters when death comes at a price - beginning his journey all over again.
Winning won’t always mean Yu will emerge from each encounter unscathed, so careful planning will be required to navigate each randomly generated world map, making use of Inns for rest and the wisdom of wise Masters he’ll meet along the way.
The further he travels, the stronger Yu will become, eventually learning new techniques from five eccentric Masters that provide permanent upgrades. Combine and experiment with these techniques to achieve Yu’s ultimate goal - victory without ‘Foresight’.
