A deadly plague threatens your world, and your expedition enters the ancient Suul'ka facility known as the Pit in search of a possible cure. Choose a character such as a Marine, Pilot, or Engineer, each with a different starting kit.
Explore rooms and descend through the facility in turn-based play. Fight alien creatures and other threats, handle traps and devices, and scavenge weapons, armor, food, and materials while managing health and other survival needs.
Improve your character's skills, equip gear with varied effects, and craft items from gathered materials, including pieces taken from enemies. The Pit's floors and encounters are procedurally generated; death ends a run, making each descent a fresh attempt to get farther.
