In a cold, dark future dominated by mega-corporations, a small lonely planet on the edge of habitable space is the site of a shadowy research facility specializing in necrotic tissue reactivation. You are a scientist who has suddenly awoken to the realization that you are the lone survivor.

You play a scientist who wakes as the only survivor of a remote research facility. Its central AI has reactivated the dead staff as combatants, and you must make your way through the facility.
Explore rooms and corridors, fight enemies in top-down shootouts, and search for ammunition, medical supplies, and other equipment. Resources are limited, so choosing when to use weapons or supplies matters.
The facility’s maps change between runs across ten levels, and permanent death means a new run after defeat. Scavenged items can be combined into weapons and gear; computer logs and monster dossiers provide story and background. The Die More Edition adds five bonus levels, items, weapons, and expanded lore.
Players who enjoy the game often praise the tense combat and resource scarcity, where a careless move or an unexpected enemy can put a run at risk. Reviews also highlight crafting options, learning enemy patterns, changing maps, and the lonely, horror-tinged atmosphere. Other players find the difficulty and repeated restarts frustrating, and some criticize the visual readability or inventory and controls.
