You play as a musher hired to transport a scientist through the Arctic on the final leg of his abandoned expedition. The journey unfolds across a frozen landscape where the scientist’s account and the expedition’s purpose remain uncertain.
Steer the dog sled over uneven snow and challenging terrain, keeping it balanced as you travel. Away from the sled, explore places such as empty cabins and abandoned camps, and look for notes and other traces of the expedition.
The journey follows a mostly linear structure, with some contained areas to explore. Text, environmental details, and sudden cuts between scenes reveal fragments of the story, while the game’s brief, atmospheric progression leaves room for interpretation.
Players who enjoyed the game often highlight its lonely Arctic atmosphere, restrained psychological tension, and mysterious, fragmented storytelling. Many also appreciate the retro-styled visuals and sound, the brief focused runtime, and the tactile sledding or chance to interact with the dogs. Some players, however, find the story too cryptic and the gameplay too limited or repetitive.
A scientist, seeking to return to the expedition he had to abandon, hires a sled dog musher to bring him on the last leg of his journey.
