You play Baron Dashforth, a daemon-hunter reliving his adventures as stage performances. The action unfolds on a theatre stage, with scenes drawing on his recollections of places, enemies, and villains.
Fight waves of enemies with attacks, grabs, jumps, reversals, and stage-tricks. Link attacks into combos to build the audience’s interest; if it falls to zero, you lose and must restart the episode.
Progress through acts in five performances, with animated scene changes between settings. Play alone or team up with a friend as sidekick Scampwick in local or online co-op; the Daemon Diary charts the discovery of Daemonology.
Player reactions are mixed. Some enjoy the straightforward beat-'em-up action, with one calling it fun and another finding it a suitable co-op pastime; a reviewer also praises its visual style and another notes its easy difficulty. Other comments find the combat repetitive or the game merely average.
