In 2009, Grisha returns to his childhood town to visit his younger sister, Anya, but finds her missing. He searches familiar streets, an apartment, and an abandoned school for traces of what happened.
This first-person walking simulator centers on exploring compact, linear locations. Inspect rooms and corridors, read notes, and find photographs and objects that reveal clues and open the way forward. A camera-flash sequence and a cat that can guide Grisha add touches to the exploration.
The story is delivered through environmental discoveries, comic-style sequences, and live-action footage, with occasional shifts in perspective. Its psychological thriller and drama elements address bullying, loneliness, guilt, and family bonds, alongside intermittent horror scenes.
Players who enjoyed the game often praise its story and its treatment of bullying, along with the uneasy atmosphere created by the environments, music, and sound. Several also single out the live-action footage and comic-style storytelling as memorable touches. Some reviewers found the experience too short or the walking-simulator gameplay too simple.
