WWII Online is a persistent multiplayer WWII campaign set across a large European battlefield. Players serve as infantry, operate vehicles, fly aircraft, or take naval roles, fighting alongside other players on a shared front.
Players attack and defend towns, support frontline operations, and work together across land, air, and sea. Squads coordinate missions, while players in High Command can plan offensives and help direct the campaign.
Rank and Victory Points provide progression toward access to additional units and equipment. Battlefield support activities, including supplying forces and establishing mobile spawn points, contribute to operations; losses also affect the availability of equipment.
The supplied reviews are mixed. Players who enjoy the game often point to its persistent, large-scale battlefield, coordinated combined-arms missions, and the distinctive feel of a player-directed campaign. Some also appreciate helpful veteran players and the sense of progression. Criticisms recur around dated graphics and controls, the learning curve, low player activity, and subscription or access costs; some reviewers also report technical problems.
All active Free Players & Veterans (Returning Players) have received 5,000 Free Victory Points (VP) as part of our 25th anniversary celebration. Simply login and play, and you should have access (sufficient rank required in some cases) to unlock premium equipment with Victory Points - a new no cost way to earn access to paid equipment.

UNLOCK POWER WITH VICTORY POINTS (VP): Free Players are no longer limited. Earn VP (for free) through high-value, supportive gameplay—like defending capture points, deploying mobile spawns, driving supply trucks and more.
ACCESS PREMIUM GEAR: Spend your earned VP to unlock and use subscription-locked, higher-tier equipment from all periods of the war. Play wisely and return it to base with your crew members alive and the vehicle in good health (no major vehicle damage, like tank tracks or wings broken) and your VP will be returned to your in-game digital wallet.
This is a serious simulation, not an arcade shooter. Experience SERIOUS HISTORICAL ACCURACY with highly detailed damage models. Every shot triggers multiple calculations for angle, speed, armor penetration, and internal component damage. Your knowledge, skill, and strategic placement are all that stand between you and a disabling hit.
Are you ready to join the war that has been raging for over two decades and know that your individual service will be a factor in the final outcome?
MASSIVE COMBINED ARMS: Seamlessly fight across land, sea, and air in a 300,000 sq. km perpetual war zone.
DYNAMIC CAMPAIGN TIERS: The war progresses chronologically (T0 to T3), with new, historically accurate equipment constantly being introduced.
WWII Online is won by flawless team execution. Your squad is a single, lethal unit, and Integrated Voice Comms (IVC) is its lifeblood. IVC provides the instant, dedicated radio channels required to coordinate complex maneuvers, allowing tank crews to call fire, pilots to warn of enemies, and leaders to order crucial flanks. This real-time coordination is the only way to successfully deploy critical assets like Mobile Spawn Points (MSPs) and deliver assets where the battle is hottest. Communication is your true weapon; cohesion is your only victory.
We are player-funded and dedicated to perpetual innovation. Launched in 2001, WWII Online is a living project that never stops growing. Every major feature, vehicle, and technical overhaul, including our pursuit of a next-gen engine, is delivered to all players absolutely free. We fight for the future of the game every day, ensuring your massive combined arms experience is constantly expanding and improving at no extra cost.
