Demon hunter Garcia Hotspur enters the Underworld with Johnson, a talking skull who serves as his companion and weapon, to rescue his kidnapped lover, Paula, from Fleming.
Fight demons in third-person shooter combat, using firearms and light to expose enemies protected by darkness. Encounters also include light-based puzzles and occasional side-scrolling shooter sections.
Johnson takes three weapon forms that gain new abilities as you progress. Find red gems to improve Garcia’s stats, and, in the remaster, unlock four costumes and New Game+ after completing the story.
