Aurora, a girl from 1895 Austria, awakens in Lemuria, a magical land where the Queen of the Night has taken the sun, moon, and stars. She sets out with new companions to recover them and find a way home. Dialogue and narration are written in rhyme.
Explore Lemuria as a 2D side-scrolling adventure, travelling through distinct areas, meeting creatures, taking on quests, and finding hidden items. Aurora can fly as the journey progresses, while the firefly Igniculus can help uncover treasures, solve puzzles, and distract enemies. A second player can control Igniculus in local co-op.
Battles use an active-time system: characters and enemies advance along a timeline, and well-timed actions can interrupt opponents. Build a party from recruited companions, develop their skills as they level up, and craft and equip gems to adjust their abilities.
Players often praise the watercolor-like art, soundtrack, and fairytale atmosphere, along with the rhyming presentation and memorable companions. Many enjoy the timing-based battles and find the adventure a pleasant, approachable RPG, though some say combat becomes repetitive or the rhymes wear thin.
