CUFFBUST is a first-person prison escape game where players take the role of inmates after the cell doors open. They search the prison for a way out while guards try to stop them.
Players gather tools and access items, fight or evade guards, and use the environment to reach escape routes. Options include digging tunnels with a spoon, breaking through weak walls, and solving obstacles such as locked doors or electrical circuits.
Up to 10 players can cooperate, compete, or sabotage one another as they attempt to escape. The game also includes a level editor and Workshop support for creating and playing custom prisons and other maps.
Reviews often criticize the limited official map selection and say runs become short, easy, and repetitive once players learn the escape routes. Some players enjoy the chaotic escapes with friends and praise the map editor, while others report trouble connecting to multiplayer sessions.
Break through doors, vents, and weak walls using explosives and other tools, to reach restricted areas. Dig an underground tunnel using your trusty spoon, for a stealthy escape.
Environment is everything. Check the cameras to locate guards, or hijack the intercom to communicate with teammates across the prison. Destroy air defenses to allow for an airborne escape, or punch down trees to build a raft.

10 player lobbies enable many play styles. Team up with a few friends and work together to be the first prisoners out, betray your team and escape alone, or gang up on other teams to hinder their progress.
Use pans and spoons to beat up guards, use ID cards to access restricted areas. Loot guns and riot shields from the armory for an action packed escape, or fix electrical circuits to navigate through the sewers.
Escape in style.
There are many intermingled routes, tools and mechanics that allow for many escape plans.
