In the world of Majesty, you are the ruler of the kingdom Ardania. At your service are your loyal and somewhat obnoxious subordinates, who have their own minds about how things should be done. In the fantasy kingdom of Ardania, you rule a settlement under threat from monsters. Rather than directly commanding heroes, you build their guilds and try to influence their choices with monetary rewards.
Develop your town by constructing buildings, defenses, and guilds that recruit more than ten hero classes, including warriors, wizards, and barbarians. Set rewards to encourage heroes to explore, fight specific threats, or take on other tasks.
Play a campaign of 16 missions across four chapters, along with quick missions and multiplayer maps for up to four players over LAN. Expand and defend your realm while adapting your kingdom and incentives to each mission.
Supplied reviews often enjoy Majesty 2’s indirect-control premise: building a kingdom and using gold rewards to coax self-directed heroes into action. Players also praise the challenge, the distinct fantasy setting and humor, and the satisfaction of seeing heroes grow and complete missions. Other reviews find the difficulty uneven, and many report problems running the game on modern hardware, so these positive experiences are not shared by everyone.
